Supporting a Vision

When Glenn Morey approached us for help with his project Side by Side, we were immediately captivated and intrigued. Two things where obvious from the very beginning. First, Glenn and his wife, Julie, had already done all of the hard work and used their exceptional talents as professional filmmakers to produce an incredibly compelling story. Second, Glenn and Julie needed a technology solution that would work in multiple countries and allow the quality of the work and the power of the story to shine through.

Glenn and Julie needed a technology solution that would work in multiple countries and allow the quality of the work and the power of the story to shine through.

Glenn’s story is the story of his life, and that of millions of other infants and children whose lives would be utterly upended by the Korean War. Over 180,000 of those children , including Glenn, would flow through orphanages, be plucked from the world they were born into, and placed in new homes throughout the world.

For many, like Glenn, the details of his biological parents are forever lost. He doesn’t know their names, or even if they are still alive. To capture the impact and complexity of a journey that so profoundly altered the lives of so many, Glenn and Julie created Side by Side. A truly Global endeavor, Side by Side shares 100 stories in 6 languages from 7 countries and 16 cities.

As each person shares the details of their life and the mysteries of their past, Glenn and Julie have captured the intimacy and emotion in interviews that felt both raw and polished. It wasn’t long before others started to take notice of this work of art and life, and soon interviews with the filmmaking team appeared on NPR and the New York Times.

In August of 2019, Side by Side premiered as a 12 channel video art installation in Seoul, South Korea. It would be followed by another opening at The Waterfall Mansion and Gallery in New York in September.

We thank Glenn and Julie for allowing us to be a part of this incredible journey.
